More about flat fee MLS. Many buyers use real estate agents, and these agents use the MLS as their main tool to find homes for their buyers. You benefit from listing your home on the MLS because you gain tremendous exposure to tens of thousand of agents and their potential buyers. Most real estate agents charge a traditional 6% commission and in return, they agree to place your home in the MLS, market your property in newspapers, magazines, hold open houses and Broker's opens, create a flyer and do all the leg work in the transaction when an offer is received. This 6% commission is usually split 50/50 between the Listing Agent and the Buyer's Agent who brings the Buyer. With Flat List RE's "for sale by owner" program, you can cut this traditional 6% real estate commission in half or better by doing the work of the Listing Agent. Since we are a real estate broker and are members of the MLS, we input your "FSBO" listing into the MLS for a flat listing fee of $299. By listing in the Realtor's MLS, Real estate agents working with buyers will show and may sell your property. You will offer a buyer's agent commission of your choice. However, if you find your own buyer not working with an agent, and you sell your property "for sale by owner", then you pay zero commission. Since your property will also appear on most real estate company websites including Realtor.com, you will have more exposure than just selling "FSBO". Plus, we give you ALL buyer inquiries on your property.
